It turns out I’m much better at finding reasons not to do things than I am at finding reasons to actually do them.

I know I’m not alone here, but it’s an interesting thing to discover about yourself. When you finally stop lying to yourself about why you don’t do the things you say you are going to do, it’s somewhat embarrassing. Basically, I can make up a lie to tell myself to justify everything I haven’t done. I’ve told myself, “I don’t have enough time,” or, “I can’t figure out how to do it, but I really do try!”. All of these, of course, are blatant lies.

The fact is that it’s a scary thing to start doing something publicly. What do I have to say that anyone wants to read? That, of course, quickly followed by, “No one is going to read my blog anyway.” I’ve blamed computer issues, work, and even an uncomfortable desk chair. Hopefully that all ends, at least in relationship to my website, today.

So, we’ll see what happens, and I promise, if nothing else, I’ll be honest in why I do the things that I do on here. Let’s face it, no one is reading my blog anyway.
